Greetings St. Luke’s Families!! This will be our last and final blog post officially wrapping up the 2016 St. Luke’s Day School Silent Auction Fundraiser. We wanted to thank all the families who attended and bid to their heart’s content! Because of you, we exceeded our fundraising goals this year! It was a night full of excitement with five lucky raffle winners!
We captured some great photos of the night, particularly of those unlucky guests who ended up in the clinker! Take a look by visiting https://itsyourmove.shutterfly.com/. Pulling off an event like this certainly took a village. We have an extra-long list of people to thank so without further ado . . .
We would like to start by thanking our platinum sponsors, Virginia Imports, Ltd, Scott and Erika Kraft, Southside 815, Ken and Twinkie von Schaumburg and Fort Hunt Animal Hospital. Without their support, along with that of our Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors and Event Patrons and Donors, this event would not have been possible. A complete list can be found on the Sponsors tab of the website. We would also like to recognize the Hargis Family for their gracious donation of their Outer Banks Beach House and their continued support to St. Luke’s Day School. An extra special thanks to the Mary Bowers and Kendra Chambers for sharing your musical talents for the night, Margerate Strain and Allan Brown – our fearless law enforcement officers, as well as Peter Garuccio, our event’s auctioneer. Last, but certainly not least, thank you to the Silent Auction Committee - our fearless leader, Anne Marie Coggins, this year's Chair, Tricia Mesaros, and the wonderful St. Luke’s Day School Staff for your time and commitment to this very special event. We hope you all enjoyed the event and look forward to welcoming you back in 2017!

It is amazing how quickly our little ones are growing up. Those swaddled little newborns are now off to school at St. Luke’s with toothy grins and pig tails. We quickly realize that it might be time to update those dated family photos on the wall from the hospital taken just minute after they were born, which brings me to our next auction item!! Very rarely do you come across a photographer who can capture the feeling of a moment in a photo. But lucky for us the wonderfully talented Audra Wrisley has donated her exceptional services for the St. Luke’s Silent Auction Fundraiser!! Audra has years of photography experience and her customer service is tops. She works from her fabulous studio conveniently located in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria. Her knack for getting your little ones to smile from ear to ear is incredible and her pictures won’t disappoint. The lucky winner of the Audra Wrisley Photography auction item will win 1 Portrait Photography Session and 1 Wall Portrait up to 20 x 24 in size. I've selected some of my favorite pictures from our photo shoot at Meridian Hill Park. To see the whole collection please visit her blog: http://audrawrisleyphotoblog.com/portrait-photography/meridian-hill-park-family-photo-session/ For more information on Audra Wrisley Photography please visit her site at www.audrawrisley.com. Hello St. Luke’s Families! My name is Maria Driggers and, for the most part, I have been the woman behind these blog posts. Today I am introducing myself to share with you all my experience from my BIG WIN at the 2015 St. Luke’s Silent Auction Fundraiser – a big beautiful house in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Thanks to the Hargis Family – this house will be up again for the Live Auction this year!
I look forward to bidding on this wonderful vacation for my family again this year and encourage you to do the same!! To see more pictures of the OBX Four Seasons Haven please browse the picture gallery below! Lastly, but certainly not least, St. Luke’s would like to thank the Hargis Family for graciously offering to donate the house again this year and for all their support to the St. Luke’s Day School. Haven't found a babysitter yet? Fret not! We have you covered!!
This may not be an auction item but it will definitely make everybody feel like a winner! Our very own Miss Gennifer is bringing the lovely ladies from the West Potomac Dance team to care for your little ones while you bid to your heart's content. This is also the perfect opportunity to get to know some great local babysitters in the area so you and your loved one can enjoy a kid-free night out once and a while! While the babysitting service is free, the dance team is accepting donations to support their dance team. 2 awesome causes, 1 fabulous night! Reserve your spot now by emailing Ms. Gennifer at [email protected]. The St. Luke's Fundraiser committee is excited to present this years' class art project! Each year the class artwork brings in lots of donations and we anticipate that this year will be the best year ever. Your little ones were awfully busy this morning getting their projects underway. They were so excited to get their tiny little fingers wet to contribute to their masterpiece! With the help of our awesome room moms each child's contribution to the piece is highlighted at the bottom with their names written next to the color they chose. These pieces would be a great addition to your kids' bedrooms or playrooms and a great memento to remember their class and classmates from the 2016-2017 school year! HAPPY BIDDING!
The definition of food provided by Merriam-Webster will tell you that food is merely any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth. Oh - but isn't it soooo much more than that!!?? Food is at the epicenter of life's grandest, most cherished events! Birthday dinners, date nights, anniversary celebrations are all celebrated around food. M.F.K. Fisher, preeminent American food writer, once said, "First we eat, then we do everything else." So, staying in line with Ms. Fisher's sentiment - the first auction items I'd like to share with you were donated by the most delicious restaurants in the DMV. Click on the logos below to check out each restaurant's website! Make sure your families don't go hungry and join us on November 12 to bid on these fantastic dining options!! RSVP now!
Greetings!! And welcome to the St. Luke's Fundraiser Community Chest.
